Biography:

Captain Armando Salazar is the main antagonist in the 2017 film, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

He was once a fearsome Spanish naval officer, nicknamed "El Matador del Mar" (The Butcher of the Sea), dedicated to eradicating pirates from the Caribbean.

Salazar's ship, the Silent Mary, was lured into the Devil's Triangle by a young Jack Sparrow, resulting in the ship's destruction and Salazar's death. He and his crew were cursed to exist as ghostly figures within the Triangle.

He is eventually released from the Devil's Triangle and seeks revenge on Jack Sparrow and all pirates.
